Another experiment with my new camera. Again, I used the zoom, and even then I had to do some serious cropping. While the focus is a little off — on the wings instead of the face — I was still quite pleased with the crispness of the shot, and am choosing to consider it a successful experiment. As for the focus, I suppose I’ll just have to practice. Oh, how I suffer for my art!

awesome wing detail

Great capture Caryn. The detail is great and lovely dof.

I love the detail on the wings, so delicate. These little critters are not easy to shoot (they move and zip around so much!) I never realized how many types of dragonflies there are until I started photographing them. I also love the background in this shot!
