Oh, very well.

I posted this one on my regular blog, but several people wrote asking for an official phlog posting. So by request, here it is, bigger and more lifelike: a crocus. (And, yes, the angle had me lying on my stomach on the cold, winter-dead grass while I tried to manually focus my macro lens. How did you know?)
Landing Zone

An osprey zooms in for a landing while its shy chicks wait for their meal in the safety and privacy of their nest.
Reflecting Pool

Saturday’s sunset hike yielded pools reflecting rock and sky. Moments later clouds rolled in, obscuring the sinking sun.
Crystalline Bush

A frost-covered bush perches on the edge of a canyon, while clouds drift below. The setting sun lights up the canyon on the opposite side of the abyss. Taken during an inversion in Canyonlands National Park.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Wishing you a happy Valentine’s Day with a photo that is completely unlike my usual shots. I learned how to do partial desaturation/saturation last summer by playing around with this photo, which was taken in my backyard right after an afternoon shower. When I saw it again a few days ago, I just knew it had to go up today. Back to my usual stuff on Monday…
Winter Cliffs

Several years ago an inversion swamped the desert. Beneath the clouds, all was gray and dark. Above them the sun shone and hoar frost pooled on the rocks. A trip up to Canyonlands National Park yielded this shot.
