We’ve been away from home for a few days, visiting my husband’s family. A visit to a local butterfly garden yielded this gorgeous monarch. I was loving the textures and patterns so much, I converted it to black and white in order to show them off better.

Beautiful! May be you should have had this one in color?

Really nice close up. Love the fact that it is black and white as well!

Amit, I decided to forgo color for the reasons listed above: I wanted to highlight the textures and patterns. Plus everyone does monarch butterfly photos in color; I wanted to do something different.
