Monarch Butterfly
We’ve been away from home for a few days, visiting my husband’s family. A visit to a local butterfly garden yielded this gorgeous monarch. I was loving the textures and patterns so much, I converted it to black and white in order to show them off better.

Beautiful! May be you should have had this one in color?
wow! an excellent macro shot of this gorgeous butterfly in mono!
This is one hell of a macro, great work
that is one beautiful specimen there.. great capture!
Really nice close up. Love the fact that it is black and white as well!
Amit, I decided to forgo color for the reasons listed above: I wanted to highlight the textures and patterns. Plus everyone does monarch butterfly photos in color; I wanted to do something different.
Really nice shot, i don’t believe i have ever seen one in person before.
Extraordinary detail. Love the b&w processing.
Wow how beautiful! I like it in B&W. Love the reflection it makes.
Nice use of B&W to simplify and stress form.
