This is the first of a series of three in which I applied radically different treatments to the same photo. The next photos in the series will post on Wednesday and Friday.
About this photo: I desaturated it and applied Sweet Jane from Itty Bitty Actions for a nice, glowy effect. I also warmed it up a little and adjusted the curves.
Happy Fourth of July!

@Elaine-, I hadn’t thought about it like a painting, but now that I look at it you’re absolutely right! It does have that effect.

Wow Caryn, this really turned out great!

Yes, so painterly with the processing techniques that you’ve used. Glorious depth of focus and subtle bokeh and a very elegant ambiance to the finished frame. Being a techno bore, I’d love to see your original Exif data for the shot as I always feel that how a frame is captured is as important as the frame itself. Call me nosey, but I really like to know what lens was used along with focal length and apertures to see how an image was born.
A very beautiful and accomplished frame Caryn and I look forward to the two further versions.

@DESPITE STRAIGHT LINES, Thanks! As for the exif info, my old template used to automatically display it, but this one doesn’t. I’ll have to see if I can figure out an easy way to do it.

Beautiful!

I love the warm almost burned colors in this one, and the shallow depth gives it a very fragile look.

I love the subtle colours and the beautiful DOF you’ve used – I’m interested to see the other versions!

It has such a great dreamy feel to it

Really like the softness and effect that this photo has. Well seen and processed Caryn. Looking forward to the next two.

Your post processing paid off handsomely. A fine, very appealing flower shot is the result. Well done. I’ll look forward to the others.

I like this one best of the three. It’s very old-fashioned-looking.
