A leaf peeks out of the jumbled mess on the ground. Frost lines the edges, and the morning light has just begun to hit it.

@Chantal, Thanks! I’ve been having fun playing with them. I have lots more from that day, but I probably won’t post them for a while, so they don’t seem redundant.

Really love this composition Caryn and the processing.

@Len Saltiel, Thanks! I was actually looking for leaves sticking up so I could contrast them with the background. I was happy to find this one.

@rian, Yes! It was SO cold! Especially since I was lying down on the grass. By the time I went inside I was soaked through and muddy. Maybe next time I’ll have to plan ahead instead of grabbing a fleece and my camera and running out the door to get photos before the morning light melts all the frost.

I like the colors and mood of this piece as well, though it’s less somber. Very nice.

@Jen, Thanks! I think the warmer light makes this one a little more optimistic.

@Eden, Thanks! The sun was just beginning to hit this leaf, but hadn’t yet touched the ones behind it, giving it a pretty contrast. That’s what I was trying to capture.

This is just lovely. It almost has a graininess to it that’s quite effective in portraying a softer mood.

@t. becque, Thanks! I’m still playing around with textures, which is where the graininess comes from.

Amazing textures! Hope you’re having a very merry Christmas!
