"Day Lily Detail" by Caryn Caldwell

A closeup of one of the day lilies in our front flower box. Desaturated to bring out the details (otherwise, all you see is the bright yellow).

  8. Amazing macro, Caryn!

  9. What gorgeous simplicity. Beautifully done!

  10. very cool. Like the soft yellow.

  11. @ABarlow, Thanks! I was a little concerned, because I have trouble capturing yellows just right with this camera, but it actually worked well this time. Must be magic. :-)

  12. @Andrew Graeme Gould, Thanks! I loved the different colors, and it was fun to try to do something different with these popular flowers.

  13. @Truels, Thanks! I played with all sorts of angles until I came up with something that fit my vision. My neighbors probably think I'm nuts. 😀

  14. @rian, Thanks! I had to use my macro lens to the fullest extent. To do otherwise would be just awful. :-)

  15. @Chantal, Thanks. The flower itself is a pale yellow, but it had some very nice light shining on it.

  16. i like the soft yellow

  17. Nice macro! Bright white and yellow flowers are certainly difficult clients. They really do need some processing to show any detail.
