"Last Leaves of Summer" by Caryn Caldwell

This morning I looked out into our yard to find the plum tree frosted over and the morning sun just beginning to rise, causing the branches to sparkle. Two minutes later I was there with my camera.

Processed with the Winter action in Florabella’s Colorplay action set. The cool turquoise tones felt right for this frosty shot.

Happy New Year! May 2013 be filled with hope and joy for you and your families.

  1. Lovely soft pastel colors. Happy new year!

    • Thanks, Rob! The pastel seemed appropriate for the soft morning light. Happy New Year to you, too!

  2. a beautiful frosty scene …. !

    • Thanks, CrashRyan! It’s been so cold here. At least the frost was a nice upside to the chilly weather. :-)

  3. So lovely, Great job Caryn!

  4. Happy New year to you, Caryn. I hope you haven’t got the flu like many of us here in Denmark?…. (including me, yes :-( )

    • Oh, no! I hope you’re feeling better now. I did indeed get the flu, and am still recovering (though almost there). It’s been a bad winter for that in the U.S., too. Hope next year is better!

  5. really nice shot, i can feel the coldness just by looking at it.. :) wishing you a happy new year!

    • Thanks, Rian! It’s definitely chilly. Figured I should take advantage of it for once instead of huddling inside (like I’m doing today).

Happy New Year to you, too!

  6. They do make a good effort in hanging on, those leaves! I love the touch of frost!

    • Thanks, Arjan! I can’t believe we still have a few leaves clinging after the storms we’ve had, but it’s kind of nice to see that a few are so tenacious. They remind me that summer will come again soon enough.

  7. Wonderful – the light, the tones, the details of the leaves. Good work!

    • Thanks so much! Morning light is so much fun to play with, isn’t it?

  8. I love the colours
